The Bay Area’s own all female dance company Mix’d Ingrdnts will be premiering a full length show called “Breaking the Silence” January 18th and 19th at 8pm at the Odell Johnson Performance Art Center (at the Laney College Campus). Theater is BART accessible via Lake Merrit BART station.
Mix’d Ingrdnts exists to empower women to empower themselves through movement and dance education. The company aims to instill a strong foundation of confidence in its members based on a stable pillar of group performance and cultivation of individual artistry.
Specializing in a variety of street dance and technical styles, Mix’d Ingrdnts brings an original dynamic work to the stage, “Breaking the Silence.” This show takes personal life experiences to explore themes of emotion, voice, process and growth from a female perspective. Mix’d Ingrdnts aims to break the silence and speak out using storytelling, dance, and creative prose.
Featuring guests choreographers Traci Bartlow and Dennis Infante.
Guest performances by: SoulShifters, Loco Bloco, Groove Against the Machine and youth company, the Groovlings.
